dec 2009

09' winter

about 20 days later, it will be the year of 2010.
who would believe i could get this far.....

i am finishing my degree for communication and art, getting an internship with the photographer i heard about when i was a freshman, went to japan for a semester, got my own camera, done a personal exhibit, met amazing people...even attended a wedding of my sister's!

who would thought i will be typing about this in my dorm room in minnesota, united states of america...a place could get so cold whenever i get into a car i would shiver until the car warms up a bit...

10 years ago, in 2000... i was 11, just about to finish my 6th grade,
i was prepared to say goodbye (to people i thought was the world to me),
and i was in the process of finding a new place to start over with.

starting everything over with.

new middle school friends, new teachers, new routes for school,
new library, new supermarket to go to....

it took me a long time to get used to that,
(and to really understand how the bus routes work. haha)

now, i am graduating in a semester.
and i just said good luck to my high school friend on her finals
(she is graduating next year also, but in November)

who would know we can get this far? ;)

next (after finals + paper) :
new year's resolution and 2009 recap (perhaps in photos?) !

catch it before is gone.

It was not completely successful. But you can see 3 hearts.

I tried all night...perhaps the light was too far away... I just could not get it right. But I was happy because I tried.

---

You know, I have tried to avoid 8am class at all cost since I was a freshman, but I don't mind them because I really would like to have that professor, even when communication classes are over at sju.

I often get heart attacks because I wake up late or such.
I survived them all, I passed them all.

Now I am at the very last week of this semester, (two days of classes left !)
the 2nd last semester in my college career is ending so soon.

It's bittersweet, really.

As a senior, I am going to say I enjoy my 8am classes, it's official.
Because at 7:50 in the morning, the campus is super quiet. And you know me, I like quiet. :) The cold air, the sunrises....

---

In the mornings, I am either too rush to put my contacts on,
or I feel like being a nice child and put my glasses on.

Some days though ... I just let my eyes be out focus.

---

These days, the school put up Christmas lights around campus,
and it's dark enough that I am able to see surprises in the morning,
like this picture below -
This mini Christmas tree was in the office when I worked last week (I brought my camera because of my boss asked for it or else I wouldn't have it with me)...

2 days later, the Christmas lights are all gone! Instead I found candy canes!

I was glad I took some pictures before they disappeared. ;)

there are so much to learn...

about this baby.

I believe i can do better than,
"this looks good", click... or click...click...click..., "i like this one"

Sometimes though, it's exciting when things happen in split seconds and
I was about to click it, and the frame is in my camera.

One day, soon...if i am able to tell people, "oh, i took this one with a high aperture, low shutter speed. It is iso 400, with a manual focus..."

I would feel very happy about this baby.

Getting the most of out mr. nikon is my goal. He's got so much potential!
Of course, he is only about 3 and 1/2 months old.

Still got a long way to go ;)

It's very addicting.

What I meant is that I took another n of these bokeh pictures at work.

They put up a mini Christmas tree.
(But I might putting those pictures up when I do the count down.)

I brought my camera to work because my supervisor wanted
me to take a photo for the READ posters competition.

Let's hope we will win. ;)
